2024 Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest Rules

Safety and Comfort

  1. Costume Requirements: Costumes must be safe and comfortable for pets. They should not restrict movement, breathing, hearing, or vision.

  2. Avoid Hazards: Costumes with loose ends, small parts, or anything that goes around the pet’s neck are strictly prohibited.

Pet Control and Behavior

  1. Leash Requirement: Pets must be leashed throughout the event, with a leash no longer than 6 feet.

  2. Owner Control: Pets must always remain under the owner’s control. Owners should be aware of their pets' personalities and remove them if they exhibit signs of stress or aggression.

Health and Identification

  1. Vaccination Status: All participating pets must have current vaccinations.

  2. Identification: Pets must wear ID tags and collars at all times.

  3. Health Conditions: Pets with health conditions that may endanger themselves or others should not participate in the contest.

Registration and Participation

  1. Pre-registration Required: Pets must be registered by October 28th.

  2. Handler Limit: Typically, one pet per adult handler (18 years or older) is allowed.

General Rules

  1. Clean-Up Policy: Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets during the event. Please ensure that all waste is disposed of properly to maintain a clean environment for everyone.

  2. Food and Drink Restrictions: Outside food or drinks (for pets or humans) may not be al- lowed in the show area.

  3. Judges’ Authority: Judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.

6. Judging Categories

  • Participants can enter their pets in one of the following categories:

  • Most Creative

  • Scariest

  • Cutest

  • Best Pet/Owner Look-alike

7. Additional Information

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a smooth registration process. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification from the contest. By participating in the 2024 Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest, you agree to abide by these rules and contribute to a fun, safe, and enjoyable event for all!
