Becky Broussard  – Appalachian / Cajun rooted and brought up in the New River Valley.  I was raised with a love for the river, mountains, and all things nature.  Hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, exploring all the old dirt roads and catching every sunrise and sunset I can.  Animal enthusiast with a wide range of furry family members on the farm.  Photography is another hobby; I enjoy trying to capture images in a way to highlight an unseen perspective.  I would call myself a “foodie.” I am passionate about creating tasty (out-of-the-box and traditional) meals and sweets to share with my friends and family.  Looking forward to our new adventure and being a part of our small-town community.

Samantha Broussard - Everyone calls me Sam.  I was born and raised in Michigan.  I was in the YMCA for 24 years, which took me to Ohio, Montana, and Here in Pulaski. When I was in Montana, I started my own business, which was a dog daycare and dog boarding business. This business was my passion.  I love all kinds of animals and will always be an advocate for them.  I came back to Pulaski 7 years ago. I missed the beautiful mountains and the southern charm.  In 2022, I started Squeeze’um and Shake’um Refreshments.  We do fresh Squeezed lemonade, and I love sharing our business with the local communities. The best part is meeting all the amazing people!  When not slinging lemonade, I love everything outdoors: hiking, camping, just going for a ride, and seeing all the cool places in southwest Virginia. I am a proud parent to my crew of dogs, sheep, cows, ducks, turkeys, and mini pigs.  I am very excited about this new adventure at the Broussards General Store.  I am looking forward to making new friends, seeing people smile, being part of the small business community, and partnering with local community groups to grow Pulaski!   

Why we wanted to start our business in Pulaski, VA

Pulaski is a small town with huge potential, surrounded by all the things we love. You find a proud sense of community here in Pulaski. Having a slower, more relaxed pace with a focus on local traditions and a simpler way of life gives you a strong sense of belonging and a connection to the local environment.  Connection is, by default, part of daily life, which is one reason why we are excited to be able to be a part of the community and grow our business.

We were truly overwhelmed by all the love and support that Pulaski has shown us! Today was a very special day as town officials, citizens, friends, and family came out to celebrate with us!
